FAQ's
Our cows and calves graze most all year long. Walking and eating on the open range. Wouldn't you be healthier than in a dirt feedlot? Montana has some snowy cold weather in the winter and we need to feed hay to get them through those spells. Our calves are weaned right across the fence from their mothers and we add a developer pellet, made with grain screenings, field peas, alfalfa, canola and molasses, to replace the milk. The calves finish growing on grass hay and pellets.
Raised on the same acres where they were born, eating the same grass, drinking the same water. We Do Not implant them with hormones to make them grow faster, and we Do Not feed them anything with antibiotics to keep them from getting sick. That is what All Natural means.
Yes they are. NHTC means: Non Hormone Treated Cattle. That also enables our cattle to be shipped to other countries such as Europe. Cattle implanted do not meet those restrictions. Some calves are implanted up to 3 times in their lives. Once as a calf at branding, when they are weaned off their mother, and then again when they go to a finishing feedlot.
Yes it is. We have the certification available upon request and it's ingredients.
We cross-breed Black Angus with Gelbvieh. Angus is a breed noted for tenderness and marbling. Gelbvieh is a breed that came from Germany. It is a versatile breed noted for muscle, longevity and it's maternal traits. We have great- grandmothers still producing wonderful calves. They are docile and calm and raise a chunk of a calf. We also benefit from "hybrid vigor" by crossbreeding, which means extra growth by the animals themselves without hormones.
mRNA vaccines are not approved for cattle at this time. They are currently in use for swine in the pork industry. We do not forsee ever having to use a vaccine of that sort on our cattle, and the pigs we market are raised in family situations and do not require them either.
We are located in South-Central Montana. West of Billings and north-east of Yellowstone Park in Stillwater County.
We have FREE shipping for our frozen meat to your home. It is shipped in insulated boxes with dry-ice. We ship to the lower 48 states. We deliver in person in our local area and on trips to South Dakota, Wyoming and Colorado.
We harvest our beef in 2 seasons. Early summer, June/July and then in the fall, September/October. We start taking deposits November 1 for the Summer beef shares.
Fall beef shares we start taking deposits May 1.
