This week? You’d better grab some iced tea, a beef stick, and take a seat. It was a doozy.
But first, look what the summer rains have done to our alfalfa. We have some great fall grazing coming up! This got hammered by the hail and was not in any shape to cut in June.
But it came back strong. We've got six inches of topsoil and every drop of rain counts. Out here, a field full of green is enough to bring a smile to your face.
OK, so we:
Shipped beef to 10 states, delivered pork and beef in Wyoming, hauled our last batch of steers to the butcher, and even sent a bull back home.

No teasing on the bull part, we literally pulled the leased bull off the heifers and sent him back to his ranch. Sharing bulls works well for both families, and we’re grateful for good cattle and even better neighbors. They calve earlier than us, so this bull got a whole summer's worth of work.
While the cows and heifers moved to fresh pasture, the big bulls are staying put, they’ll remain with the cows until the first calves hit the ground in May 2026. The heifers are on their own.
We’ve still got meat deliveries to make this fall, but the finish line is coming into view.
