Welcome! Busy at the Ranch this week as Veterans Day approaches, the cows changed pastures, it frosted, it snowed, and Sam is Back.
We also drew our first winner in the Prime Rib giveaway.
Let’s get started!
Life On The Ranch:
The Veterans Day Donation Giveaway is well underway, with 28 families joined in on the deal now. We will make a 5# of ground beef donation to the Montana Veterans Meat Locker for every beef purchase until Veterans Day.
On Monday we will take "your" donations, since we are donating the meat in your names, to Chris ad Kristen at the Meat Locker to gift to the Veterans. Any Veteran can go and get 15# of ground beef. It is a gift and a big Thank you for your service. Just show them your military ID and you are good to go. No paperwork or anything required.
Sam is back, our resident Bald Eagle. I was going down the lane to go check cows, and he was sitting on the railroad tie, gate post, by the mailbox.
If you have never seen a Bald Eagle up close, I wish you could.
First you notice their size, obviously larger than the average hawk or osprey we have around here. And they show off their white head and tail.
Next you can see their beak is thick and wicked the way it is bent downward and has such a sharp point.
Their eyes looks fierce.
Then they stretch out those long, broad wings. Jump with their legs and the claws on their feet are an inch long I bet.
The sound they make when they fly up is a whoosh and you can hear the air they are pushing down with their wings.
Sam took off, flew over the house, over the yard, by the barn, and circled over the pasture.
It is a good day when we see he is watching over us. A pretty impressive bird to have describing Americans in my view.
The image of strength and inside the power to back it up.
You tell every Veteran you see how much you appreciate them and what they do for our country. Their day is coming up.
Sunday morning on the Ranch in a new pasture. The cows ate all night and are stuffed now and sleeping in.
AND THE WINNER IS..... Chelan D. Congratulations!!
She has won the first Prime Rib roast we are giving away.
We will draw again on Thursday the 14th, we have two roasts
to giveaway .
How do you get in the drawing?
Well these are for folks that decide they need a share of beef in June or July, and make their deposit.
We are taking deposits now for those shares, before we ship calves on the 14th. If we can see how many folks are counting on getting their share in June, then we can judge better how many calves to keep home. Otherwise they go on the truck.
So speak up for heaven's sake.
We raise exceptional beef.
From the bulls we buy with the traits we value, like tenderness, rib eye size and marbling.
To the attention we pay to their nutrition, health, low stress handling, and their environment. It all makes for an exceptional animal and that shows in the beef you get.
We have been BQA certified for more than 30 years.
BQA stands for Beef Quality Assurance, it is important to us.
Our family eats what we produce, and we plan on having the best.
So decide, put your deposit down by Wednesday, and you are in the drawing.
Here are the links for 1/4, 1/2, and whole beef shares. We also have shares that include a freezer, and 1/8 shares. They are on our website too.
