Brisket, Veterans, and a Mission You Can Join

Brisket, Veterans, and a Mission You Can Join

It rained again! Nearly an inch last weekend.

We shipped beef on Monday, then packed up and headed to Colorado, with a cooler full of meat in the back and a mission on our hearts.

Yes, the truck was muddy. Yes, we’re already on bag #3 of Halloween candy, and no, we still don’t get trick-or-treaters at the ranch.

But we do believe in being prepared.

Grab a cup of coffee and sit a bit,  we’ve got a mission to prepare for.

I Don’t Pack Lipstick. I Pack Beef

We drove down to help my 90-year-old dad. He’s still a meat-eater, still in his own place, and still telling stories at the kitchen table.

He got a new bathroom, new carpet, and some brisket meals in the freezer.

Because when we visit, we don’t just bring cookies and pie. We bring food that feeds the soul.

Chili, burger patties, brisket, ready to heat up and share.

History, Heroes & Highways

We passed Custer Battlefield, then crossed into Wyoming on the Vietnam Veterans Welcome Home Highway. We stopped to take a picture of the sign.

It reminded me:

We live in a land worth fighting for and one that is well-fed.

We passed Kaycee, where Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid holed up in the hills.

And everywhere we looked? Cows are still in the pasture. Calves by their side. Antelope on the run.

It’s a quiet country. But it speaks loudly:

Ranching is about seasons. And service. And showing up for your people.

This highway features signs along its entire route across Wyoming, highlighting veterans returning home, museums, and cemeteries.

A Challenge for You

If you’ve got a meat-eater at your house, or a neighbor who lives alone, or a veteran you know, here’s my invitation:

Make a little extra.

Pack a thermos of coffee. Take over some brisket or apple crisp.

Visit. Share a story. Hug them.

It’ll feed your soul as much as their stomach.

New Mission: Montana Veterans Meat Locker

This fall, we’re giving back, not just giveaways, but gratitude.

For every beef share you order, we donate 5 lbs of ground beef in your name to the Montana Veterans Meat Locker.

 No red tape.
 No forms.
Just a thank you for their service.

Want to do more?
Buy 5 lbs to donate, and we’ll match it.
That’s 10 lbs going to a veteran in your name.

Last year, we delivered 200 lbs.
This year, we’re aiming for 400.

You in?

This was last year's delivery on Veterans Day.
