Dinner Bell’s Ringing

Dinner Bell’s Ringing

We got everyone home last weekend.

Cows are settled into the calving pasture, heifers are close by, and the bulls are off in their “man cave” — probably sleeping in, eating chips, and watching TV.

Timing worked out about right.

We had two days of snow right after, so it was good to have everyone where they needed to be.

Then it turned into a plumbing week.

When you fix one leak around here, it usually just shows you where the next weak spot is.

So our well guy made a couple of trips.

I sent him home with some beef sticks the first time.

Second trip out, he found out we sell freezer beef, too.

I asked if he wanted a 1/4 or a 1/2.

He said, “No… I want a whole beef.”

That’s how it usually goes.

Most folks don’t know we sell direct until they try something from the ranch.

Same thing with our feed truck driver.

I gave him a couple of beef sticks last month.

This month, he called ahead and said, “Can I buy some of those? They’re too handy not to have.”

And last weekend, moving cows home, we had both our neighbor and a FedEx driver get caught in the middle of it.

FedEx driver parked his truck right in the road, got out, helped us move cows, and said it was the best delivery of his day.

That was his delivery photo—cows turning down the lane and me holding the package.

It’s been a good week.

And this morning — we’re open.

Beef shares are now available:

  1. • 1/8, 1/4, 1/2, and whole beef shares
  2. • Montana Steak Boxes
  3. • Taste the Difference Bundles ($200 Beef Bucks included)

Every beef share also includes our Montana 5 commitment — we donate 5 lbs of ground beef in your name to the Montana Veterans Meat Locker.

Once shares are spoken for, we’ll close things back down until the next round.
