Freedom, from the Ground Up

Every 4th of July, we stop for a moment to think about what freedom means — to our family, to our ranch, and to the families we raise beef and pork for.

Out here, freedom starts with the land beneath our boots. It’s in the pastures we’ve stewarded for over 100 years, in the calves we raise from our own mama cows, and in every decision we make to care for this place.

When you fill your freezer with beef or pork from our ranch, you’re doing more than stocking up. You’re standing for something bigger — food security, local economy, and the right to choose where your food comes from.

That choice matters. It keeps rural families like ours going. It keeps your food supply local and dependable. And it helps ensure that the next generation can stand on this same ground, raising food with respect for the land and the animals.

We’re grateful to you for being part of it.

Life on the Ranch

We had good rains last week, beef deliveries for summer harvest are underway, and the calves are looking strong and healthy.

We’ve got 10 steers lined up for fall harvest, and the bulls are behaving (so far, anyway!). We’re grateful every day for this ranch life.

And here’s something worth celebrating:

We moved the pairs and heifers today in one day. Everyone went through the gate, calves and all, and we shut it behind them — smooth as could be.

The pigs for this year’s pork shares are growing at the local 4-H kids’ places — it won’t be long now until fair time.
