Look What You Helped Us Do

What’s Happening at the Ranch

This week felt like the whole ranch took a deep breath before winter hits us full force. And honestly? We’ve been running hard to stay ahead of it.

Come along and spend a few minutes at the ranch with me.

Monday: Cows, Boxes, and Beating the Sunset

We moved cows to fresh pasture first thing in the morning, closer to home, and on to fresh grass.

Then it was back to shipping, where we boxed and sent out the last of the frozen Christmas beef deliveries. Cory, our UPS driver, even waited while I finished the final address label so the very last family on the list would get their order in time.

No time to celebrate.  We hustled straight back to the pasture to drain the water tank and roll up two miles of electric fence before dark. Once the temps drop, any water left becomes a block of ice until spring

Tuesday: Teriyaki Day

We made a trip to Stillwater Packing and came home with more beef sticks, including our brand-new Teriyaki flavor! Those flew out the door the minute we announced them.

Wednesday: Feeding the Fire Department

We delivered 70 lbs of ground beef to the Molt Volunteer Fire Department for their annual Chili Supper & Community Auction this Sunday at 5 pm.

If you’re local, come early if you want a seat! They make the chili, the community brings the auction items, and together we raise the money that keeps our fire department running.

We support three causes with our ranch-raised beef, and this one is right here at home.

Thursday: The Calm Before the Storm

We planned to work replacement heifers… but when the forecast changed, so did we.

50 degrees, 50 mph wind — a full Chinook — except this time it blew before the storm, not after. That’s rare… and not comforting.

We fed everything heavy so they head into this cold snap with full bellies. By late afternoon, it was raining, by supper it was snowing, and by Friday morning, we’re expecting 4 degrees and half a foot of snow.

And just as we sat down for the night, we got a call about cattle on the road again. After the Great Steer Escape, we’re on everyone’s speed dial,  which is good… I think.

Turns out they were another neighbor’s bulls (a “neighbor” out here still means two miles away). They had wandered in and discovered the stockpiled grass we’re saving for our cows.

They now know where the buffet is — so… we’ll adjust.

What’s Been Moving This Week

  1. • Beef Sticks — especially the new Teriyaki
  2. • Christmas Promise Packs
  3. • Holiday Steak Boxes
  4. • And beef shares — families stocking up for winter

This is the last weekend to order for Christmas delivery. Anything ordered through Monday, we can guarantee for Christmas.

If you’re still thinking about Christmas, I can help you find something special to put under the tree.

Thank You for Supporting This Ranch

It’s been a full week, the kind that reminds us why ranch life is equal parts grit, grace, and showing up no matter the temperature.

Thank you for choosing beef you can trust, from people you know, raised on land we love.

P.S. If you’re planning on beef sticks or a Christmas Promise Pack, this weekend is the sweet spot. We’ll guarantee Christmas delivery through Monday — after that, we shift fully to January shipping.

In honor of those who served —

Feeding Montana veterans with every beef share.
