The Flag Came In on a Parachute... Flown by a Girl
At the Air Force Academy football game this weekend, three F-16s streaked across the sky in the opening flyover. Our son was flying the jet in the middle.
Right before that moment, a young woman, a cadet on the Wings of Blue parachute team, dropped into the stadium, carrying the American flag.
As parents, we stood in the crowd with hands over hearts, tears in our eyes, remembering the little boy who once took care of calves in our barn while wearing a “Top Gun” hat.
We believe in big dreams, hard work, and doing things the right way, in the skies and on the ranch.
The Pig Parade Rolled On… and the Ranch Grew Up
We delivered pasture-raised pork shares all the way to Colorado this week.
And then it happened, our in-town shipping partner told us we’d officially outgrown them.
So, we adapted.
Now we’re picking up dry ice in town, boxing up orders here at the ranch, and handing them straight to our UPS driver, Cory, on our gravel driveway.
We're growing, and staying true to our roots.
Back Home With the Herd
After this weekend, we’ll pull the bull off the heifers. Those young girls are just over a year old now and (we hope) carrying calves of their own.
We’ll preg-check in late October.
And here’s the part most people don’t realize: The calves they’re carrying now will be finished and ready in June 2027.
It takes us years to raise the kind of beef we’re proud to put our name on. Not 30 days. Not 90 days. Years.
