Staring At The Fridge Again, Wondering What’s For Supper?

Staring At The Fridge Again, Wondering What’s For Supper?

Have you still got your boots and gloves handy?

We are working cows this weekend and could use the help.  Neighbors helping neighbors, and any strong friends we know get called on for this.   And the boys come home, no wives this year.

Of course, there's a roast of chili, cinnamon rolls, pie, and apple crisp for afterward.  We'll let you know earlier next year so you can make a plan.

The bees are gone! They hit the road this week, heading to California for winter work among the nut trees. It always feels a little quieter when they leave, the hum of the ranch settles back to just cows, wind, and work.

The green grass and alfalfa we had when the bees got here in May have now faded to golden and dormant grass.

Heifers headed south, too, 1 fenceline

Their grass was getting short, and around here, we like to leave a little “armor” on the soil, grass cover that keeps the wind from blowing our topsoil away and gives the bugs and roots a fighting chance through winter.

It’s hard to insulate anything at -40°, but the main thing is no bare ground.

We make our living from six inches of topsoil and the fact that it rains,  so we protect what matters most.

In your home, that looks a little different, it’s keeping your family fed, your meals planned, and your freezer full of real food you can trust.

That’s the “meat anchor.” When the main meal’s already taken care of, your days get easier, your grocery bill shrinks, and your family eats better.

When your freezer’s stocked with all-natural Montana beef, the basics are covered. Dinner’s not a question mark anymore; it’s already handled, sitting right there in your freezer.

That’s peace of mind money can’t buy.

About That Argentina News

Yes, I am still wound up about letting Argentina bring beef to the United States.

Our country has inspection regulations to protect us.

What do you think inspections are like in Argentina?

Do you think they care about you?  Your safety?

There’s plenty of talk about it, but here at T Bar J Ranch, we believe the best beef still comes from American soil, raised by families who care for the land, their cattle, and the people they feed.

When you choose T Bar J beef, you’re not just feeding your family, you’re supporting an American rancher who keeps safety, health, and animal care in the forefront, because we are feeding our family too.

 Feeding Our Veterans

Every beef share order this fall helps us donate 5 lbs of ground beef to the Montana Veterans Meat Locker in your name because our heroes deserve the best, not imported leftovers.

And if we don't reach our 400 lb goal by Veterans Day, we will continue donating 5 lbs for every share until we get there.  Because that is what we set out to do, even if it becomes a year-long project, we aren't going to let them down.

   The Dinner Bell's Ringing!

Fill your freezer with 25 lbs of all-natural Montana beef, raised clean, packed with flavor, and ready for every meal that matters.

Every order supports Montana ranchers and puts beef on the table for local veterans.

If you’ve been waiting for the right time to stock your freezer, this is it. There’s never been a better moment to choose American beef raised by the people who still believe in doing things right.

From Our Ranch to Your Table

From our pastures to your plates, thank you for standing with us, supporting American ranchers, and believing in beef raised the right way.  Believing in production agriculture, American style.

P.S. Next Saturday, we open deposits for our Summer 2026 Beef Shares, and just like last year, it’ll kick off with a Prime Rib Giveaway!

P.P.S. We’re gathering the herd today and preg-checking Saturday. Both boys will be here, and the grandgirls are taking their jobs seriously: Ayla writes tag numbers, Avery hands out cookies, and Ally mostly eats cookies.

In honor of those who served —

Feeding Montana veterans with every beef share.
