The Biggest Beef Order Isn't Always the Best One
Summer isn't letting go here in Montana.
Al and I have started getting our cattle checks and outside work done early in the morning.
By afternoon, you'll usually find us in the shop making repairs, catching up on computer work...and lately, making a lot of phone calls.
Over the past couple of weeks, I've been spending a little extra time on the phone.
I've been calling families who received beef from us this summer.
I wanted to make sure everything arrived in good shape, answer any questions, and hear how they were enjoying it.
Those conversations always remind me why we do what we do.

They always leave me smiling.
Every single family I talked with was happy with their beef.
Several mentioned the surprise hamburger patties we tucked into their order.
Others shared what cuts had already become family favorites.
We delivered a whole beef to one customer this week...and before we left, he reserved another one for next summer.
One family has already introduced four friends to T Bar J Ranch.
Another family divides every order with their daughter who lives in another state.
The beef stick samples were a big hit as well.
It reminded me that we're not just delivering beef.
We're becoming part of family meals all across the country.
As I hung up the phone after another conversation, one thought kept coming back to me.
Every family is different.
And because every family is different...
There isn't one "right" way to buy beef.
If I were standing in your kitchen...
I'd probably ask a lot more questions before I recommended anything.
How many people are you feeding?
Do you have growing kids who seem hungry all the time?
Are you empty nesters?
Do you cook every night, or mostly on weekends?
Do you reach for ground beef three nights a week?
Or do you love grilling steaks?
How much freezer space do you really have?
Those answers tell me far more than simply asking whether you want a Quarter or a Half Beef.
Because...
The best beef order isn't always the biggest one.
It's the one that fits your family.

That's why I never try to convince someone to buy more beef than they need.
I'd rather help you find the option that makes supper easier, fits your freezer, and works for your family.
For some families, that's a Half Beef Share.
For others, it's a Quarter.
An Eighth Beef Share.
Or even our Taste the Difference Bundle.
There isn't a wrong answer.
Only the answer that's right for you.
If you've been thinking about filling your freezer this fall, I'd love to visit with you.
Email me and tell me about your family.
- • How many people are around your table?
- • What does your freezer look like?
- • What's your favorite meal to cook?
Together, we'll figure out what makes the most sense.
No pressure.
Just a conversation.
Let's Find the Right Beef for Your Family
Thanks for showing up this week.
Thank you for supporting a local rancher.
P.S.
One of my favorite questions to ask after we deliver beef is...
"What was the very first thing you cooked?"
It usually falls into one of two categories.
🥩 "We grilled ribeyes that night."
or...
🍔 "I browned a package of ground beef."
Either answer makes me smile.
