We've Got a Winner! - And a Few New Calves to Boot

This week - it rained, it snowed, we got stuck in the mud again, and a few more calves showed up. So . . . just a normal week. But we did Pick A Winner for T Bar J Beef Giveaway!!

Giveaway Winner

Congrats to Bobby, who just won 10 lbs of our all-natural ground beef — packed with care and shipped straight from our ranch to his door along with a jar of our ranch honey.

And to the other 888 of you who entered — thank you. This giveaway has been one of our favorite ways to meet new folks, grow our ranch family, and share what makes T Bar J beef special.

And because it’s been such a success . . . We’re doing it again.

The Ground Beef Giveaway continues for another month — and there’s still time to enter or share it with someone who needs to know their rancher.

Five Orders in a Day

We had five beef share orders roll in right after yesterday’s emails — all from folks who had entered the giveaway. Some had just signed up. Some had tried our ground beef and came back for a share.

It’s a good reminder: people care about what they eat. They care about where it comes from.  And they want to know the people behind it. We’re honored to be your rancher.

Ranch Update: 6 Calves and One Mile in the Mud

We had three more calves arrive this morning — that brings us to six so far: Four heifers, two bulls.

And with 2 inches of rain this week, the pastures are looking lush — if a little squishy.

The feed truck got stuck (again) . . . but this time I wasn't driving. Just thought I’d point that out — since I’m currently way ahead in the "getting the feed truck stuck" tally.

It was a muddy mile back to the house to get the tractor, and Fritzie was not impressed. She made the trip, but I don’t think she’s forgiven us yet — especially since it was still raining.

Bulls in the Bachelor Pad

With calving underway, we moved the bulls to their own pasture — their “bachelor pad” — where they’ll stay until breeding season begins July 22.

They’re loving it. Sleeping in, eating in peace.

They look like they’re ready to sit on the couch with the remote and a bag of corn chips watching baseball. Honestly, we don’t blame them.

5-Year Steak Turners

Some of our customers have been with us for five years or more, and that deserves something special. Last year, we started the tradition of gifting hand-forged steak turners, and gave out 21. This year, we’ll be giving out 10 more.

They’re made by our blacksmith friend Danny in Sweet Grass County — and built to last, just like the friendships we’ve made raising and delivering beef to families who care about clean eating. Next week, we’ll give you a peek at what Danny made for our 10-year customers.

 Amy’s Tallow Balm

Beef fat is one of the extras we offer to customers who want it — and Amy showed us just what’s possible with it.

She rendered it down and made her own tallow balm — and even shared a jar (and the recipe) with me.

More on that next week... but I’ll just say, it’s simple, clean, and surprisingly soft. You might want to try it yourself.

Thanks for being here

Whether you just found us through the giveaway or you’ve been with us for years — we’re so grateful. You’re the reason we get to keep doing what we love.

We’ll be back next week with another Ranch Roundup, a new Cut of the Week, and hopefully... a little less mud.

Oh — and I just learned hyperlinking! If you tap our T Bar J Ranch brand at the top of this email, it’ll take you to our website where you can see all our available shares and ground beef bundles.
