Cut of the Week: What’s Second Place on the Steak Chart, But Not at Our Table?

What is your favorite cut of steak?

I did a survey on that a couple of years ago.  Rib Eye came in first in our area of Montana with the guys, but New York was a close second, mostly the gals.

I don't think it is really second, I just think more guys voted!

Get a glass of iced tea and listen up for this week's cut of the week.  We call it New York, others call it a Strip Steak, and then there are those that mix it together, New  York Strip Steak.  Or just call it GOOD.

BONELESS STRIP STEAK

Where It Comes From

This week’s cut comes from the loin, a section known for tenderness and flavor. The New York Strip is a premium steak with just the right balance of marbling and tenderness, hearty, satisfying, and made for special dinners or quick pan-sears after a long day.

Before & After

Before the sear, you’ve got a beautiful marbled cut that promises rich beef flavor. After? A sizzling steak topped with a creamy mushroom-Diane sauce and served with a baked potato. It’s the kind of meal that makes you feel like a restaurant chef… without leaving the ranch (or your kitchen).

A classic steakhouse dish that’s surprisingly simple. Tender steak, a splash of brandy (or beef broth), and a silky mushroom sauce. No grill needed, just one skillet, one apron, and a little appetite. It’s comfort food, dressed up.

Thanks For Showing Up Each Week

If you’ve been reading along for a while, you know this isn’t just about steak. It’s about knowing where your food came from, feeding your family with confidence, and having meals that feel like a win, even on a weeknight. That’s what we’re here for. And we’re so glad you’re here, too.

P.S. The Taste the Difference bundle is our favorite way to help folks get started, no freezer needed, just 25 lbs of premium beef (yes, even New Yorks), ranch honey, and a $200 gift card for your future share.

It’s our “try it once and you’ll know” box, and it’s a pretty easy way to taste the difference for yourself.
