Storm preparations are in full swing here as we brace for another winter storm to hit this weekend.  We did get beef shipped this week during this "in-between storms when the roads were cleared up" time.  So put down your snow shovel, rest and come to the ranch for a few minutes.

 

Life on the Ranch

This is our morning commute.

 

The heifers are following to get their morning pellets.  

 

We moved the windbreak over to the cows in their new pasture.  Wind, especially if the cows are wet from snow or rain, creates the biggest lose of body heat.  They will go stand on the sheltered side of their windbreak gladly.

A Cattle Back Scratcher.

 

Don't you wish you had one of those for the hard to reach places on your back?

 

When we move the cows we have to take all their "stuff": Windbreak, back scratcher, mineral feeder, salt block.

 

So now the cows, heifers and steers are situated and ready for the weather headed our way.

 

Beef Shares delivered, next available in June

 

The roads cleared up and we were able to deliver and ship beef shares this week.

 

One of my favorite parts of this process is calling customers when their beef arrives.

 

I always check in to make sure everything is still frozen and in great shape.  Although lately being frozen has not been a concern!  Their excitement opening their boxes of beef never gets old.

 

Hearing how thrilled they are to fill their new freezer (the one we provided!) with premium beef is one of the best parts of what we do.

 

Not everyone needs a new freezer, but for many bulk beef buying is a new adventure.
