Mommas and Daughters

2025 is a week old and we have had snow every day since 2024.  I thought Sunday we would get by with some sun, but by evening it was snowing again. 

 

Hope this new year is bringing you nice sunny days and dry roads.

 

Let's a look at the last week here, get a drink and enjoy a 5 minute mini-vacation to the ranch.

 

Life on the Ranch

We have been feeding everyday here this last week.  Something we try to avoid, but Mother Nature has decided otherwise.  And she always wins. 

 

In fact today, after the 50 MPH winds yesterday, with a foot of snow, we couldn't get around with the feed truck, had to get out the tractor.  Here is a picture of last Sunday when I thought we were in for a break.

 

 

We brought the heifer pairs home and weaned the calves the day before the big wind. 

 

That allowed the calves to be around the barn and some shelter on that windy day.  And their mothers were right across the corral fence.  It was warm weaning day and today was too. So we are in for a few loud nights, neither momma or daughter is happy.

 

The goal of leaving them mothered up till into January was to experience snowstorms out grazing, and they have done that.

Ground Beef Update

Well you may have noticed there was not a Sunday email like I was planning.  Too much weather, and the cows come first, sorry.

 

You are a close 2nd. but not 1st.

 

I do have the Ground Beef bundle links open for business. And we have Ground Beef in stock ready to ship.

 

 I believe UPS is about caught up to it's usual speed after the Christmas Holiday package rush.  We shipped a bundle this week to Minnesota and it is only 1 day longer shipping than we planned. 

 

This would be a great place to start eating our nutrient-dense beef and then maybe expand and get an 1/8 or 1/4 for June delivery.

 

That would give you some steaks ready for bar b q time.

 

Of course, nothing beats Hamburgers off the grill on a winter day, if your weather cooperates.

Shipping January Shares

We are picking up the January beef next week.  It has finished it's dry aging and is being packaged.  We will start delivering and shipping that to folks.  Most of the freezers are shipped, plugged in and waiting for the beef to show up.

Appreciation

We love building relationships with our customers.  We want to do all we can to make their beef buying experience the best ever.  That is the biggest advantage we have over buying beef in a store, next to the taste, treatment of the animals, treatment of the land, knowing where your food comes from.

 

To that end, our #1 goal this year in to take our customers from 170 where we are today, to 200.  We feel we can serve that number of families.  Nourish them with our all-natural beef, it's health benefits,  and supplying that many families with our high-quality beef.

 

Behind the scenes there are many smaller goals, but that is our biggest.  To show our customers how much they mean to us and take care of them.
